Emirates restores flights to 5 African countries

Customers entering and exiting Emirates’ African gateways can connect securely to Dubai and a range of onward connections to Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, West Asia and Australasia.

South Africa: Flights between Dubai and South Africa will operate as a daily flight to and from Johannesburg, from January 29 and double daily services from February 1. Flights to and from Cape Town and Durban will operate daily from February 1.

Emirates flight EK 761 takes off from Dubai at 04:40 and arrives in Johannesburg at 10:55. EK 762 leaves Johannesburg at 1:25 p.m. and arrives in Dubai at 11:45 p.m. The second daily flight, EK 763, departs Dubai at 10:05 a.m. and arrives in Johannesburg at 4:30 p.m. The return flight, EK 764, leaves Johannesburg at 6:50 p.m. and arrives in Dubai at 5:05 a.m. the next day.

The EK 772 from Dubai to Cape Town departs at 03:55 and arrives in Cape Town at 11:45. EK 771 leaves Cape Town at 6:25 p.m. and arrives in Dubai at 5:55 a.m. the following day. The EK 775 departs Dubai at 10:35 a.m. arriving in Durban at 5:05 p.m., and the EK 776 departs Durban at 7:00 p.m. arriving in Dubai at 5:15 a.m. the following day.

Kenya: Emirates will operate 10 weekly flights to Nairobi from January 29. The EK 719 and 720 will operate on Sunday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, taking off from Dubai at 9:35 a.m. and arriving in Nairobi at 1:45 p.m., in turn leaving Nairobi at 3:30 p.m. and landing in Dubai at 9:30 p.m. The EK 721 and 722 will fly on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the EK 721 taking off from Dubai at 02:10 and arriving in Nairobi at 06:20. EK 722 will leave Nairobi at 23:55 and arrive in Dubai at 05:55.

Ethiopia: Emirates flights to Addis Ababa will operate daily from January 30, with an EK 723 taking off from Dubai at 09:25 and arriving in Addis Ababa at 12:40. EK 724 departs Addis Ababa at 3:05 p.m. and arrives in Dubai at 8:15 p.m.

Tanzania: Emirates will operate to Dar Es Salaam with five flights per week from January 30. The EK 725 will take off from Dubai at 09:30 and arrive in Dar Es Salaam at 13:55. The EK 726 will depart Dar Es Salaam at 3:25 p.m. and land in Dubai at 9:50 p.m.

Zimbabwe: Emirates will operate to Harare with six weekly flights linked to its Lusaka service from January 30. EK 713 leaves Dubai at 09:20, with a stopover in Lusaka, and arrives in Harare at 17:00. EK 714 takes off from Harare at 6:45 p.m., stops in Lusaka and continues to Dubai, arriving at 6:25 a.m. the following day.

All passengers traveling from Emirates’ African network with Dubai as their final destination must undergo a 48-hour PCR test.

Passengers must present a valid negative Covid-19 PCR test certificate with a QR code for testing at an approved facility, and validity must be calculated from when the sample was taken.

Upon arrival in Dubai, passengers will undergo an additional Covid-19 PCR test and remain in self-quarantine until test results are received.

Passengers traveling from these destinations and transiting through Dubai are required to follow the rules and requirements of their final destination.
