- She asked people who might have been in contact with her to isolate themselves.

Johannesburg City Health and Social Development MMC Eunice Mgcina has urged people who have come into contact with her in recent days to self-isolate after contracting Covid-19.
Mgcina received the results of her Covid-19 test Thursday afternoon after feeling unwell for a few days.
“I want to make a passionate plea to our residents so that they take this third wave that we are experiencing very seriously.
“Our healthcare systems and facilities have started to feel the pressure, and I urge all residents to help us respond to calls to wear masks at all times; to wash their hands or disinfect regularly and follow the social distancing at all times, “Mgcina said in a statement.

She joins Mayor Geoff Makhubo and Chief Council Whip Solly Mogase who have contracted the virus.
City spokesman Mlimandlela Ndamase said staff at Mgcina’s office would self-isolate for four days and take additional tests.
